I'm not certain but I think adding the defnode statement might help if you don't have that enabled already.
My sample binkd.conf has..
defnode -nd *, but I haven't tried polling an unlisted node.
Not sure about that. First, it seems I had to do a binkd -p to force it to poll. Then when I did I got all sorts of connections going on.

A couple of pages of those for different nets.

For some reason the wrong domain is being used. I don't know how to explain or fix that.
If I wanted to poll your node I would do..
binkd -pP 1:124/5016 binkd.conf
If I got the wrong domain I would try -pP 1:124/5016@fidonet.
Binkd will poll your node then, and may poll other nodes also if there is stuff in the outbound waiting to go.
If I had a user using this method to send a netmail (or myself for that fact), I shouldn't have to manually do a poll. If it's in outgoing, binkd should pick it up and do whatever it's supposed to do with it. I con't see the point in flagging something for "crash" if it's not going to go through the while process.

So you have that setup where all domains use the same default zone number? Like
domain amiganet /ftn/outbound/amiganet 1

My binkd is daemonized so it sends everything when it rescans the outbound. There is no need to create polls in that case.
When you run binkd with the -p option it will behave the same way, it will scan your outbound and send whatever is in the outbound and quit.
So you have that setup where all domains use the same default zone
number? Like
domain amiganet /ftn/outbound/amiganet 1
That's how I was told to set it up when I started adding "othernets". It has worked fine upto this point.

It's in the Binkd FAQ too, but I experienced similar problems, when I tried the 4D setup. Never worked for me. If you do have a 5D tosser, it's better to not use this workaround (IMO).
